Kathleen M. Kassmann
Ms. Kassmann worked for in-house counsel for State Farm Insurance from 1991 to 2004. In October of 2004, she joined The Moulton Law Firm as partner. She brings a wide variety of experience in insurance defense, including bad faith, first-party claims, subrogation and trial work. Ms. Kassmann has served as lead trial counsel on a significant number of jury trials in Maricopa County Superior Court. She has participated in more than 250 arbitrations and mediations.
Ms. Kassmann is a Certified Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. There are only approximately 200 such specialists out of more than 20,000 Arizona lawyers. There are currently fewer than 10 women with this certification. The certification requires substantial jury trial experience, the recommendation of five other specialists, positive recommendations of opposing counsel and judges before whom she appeared, as well as a passing score on a national examination covering complex legal, evidence and procedure issues.
She has attended National Institute for Trial Advocacy weeklong courses, including Trial Advocacy and Advanced Trial Advocacy. Finally, Ms. Kassmann has volunteered with the Maricopa County Young Lawyers Division and served as a judge pro tem from 2001 to 2004. She also served as a judge at Arizona State University law school student competitions.
